Primary and Post-Primary Associates

The National Induction Programme for Teachers (NIPT), a cross-sectoral support service
for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) under the remit of the Teacher Education Section of the
Department of Education and Skills (DES) may have a number of opportunities for the
position of Associate 2020/2021.
An associate is a registered teacher, who is engaged to work in a part-time capacity with
NIPT to complement and extend the capacity of the service. An associate will be required to
make her/himself available to work for up to 20 school days in any one year. The needs
of the organisation may also necessitate work/training in the evenings/weekends/holiday
periods until August 31st.
However, appointment as an associate does not guarantee 20 days’ work in any given year
and may also necessitate work/training in the evenings/weekends/holiday periods.
Please ensure to complete the part of the application form with regard to the 20 day release
time requirement.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and serving Primary and Post-Primary
teachers who are fully registered with the Teaching Council, hold a recognised position and
have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience. Candidates with Droichead experience are
particularly welcome.
Following the application process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a recruitment
event (which includes a group interview) on Saturday March 7th 2020 and, subsequently, a
panel will be created for 2020/2021. Associate positions will be offered to panel members
based on the needs of the organisation at national and regional levels. Please note a place
on the panel does not guarantee work as an associate.
