JCT elective module: ‘3D printing in the classroom - creativity and design

3D printing is changing how things are made and heralding a revolution in manufacturing. I-Form, the SFI Research Centre for Advanced Manufacturing, is shaping the future of manufacturing through high-impact research into the application of digital technologies to materials processing.

At this workshop especially designed for Junior Cycle teachers:

·         Learn how to introduce 3D printing to the classroom, and how to link it to the curriculum

·         Gain confidence in running projects based around 3D printing

·         Find out where to access free resources and support for 3D printing projects

·         Find out about careers in 3D printing and manufacturing, and the skills that are needed among the manufacturing workforce today

The workshop, funded by the Science Foundation Ireland Discover programme, has been developed in partnership with Junior Cycle for Teachers, and will be delivered by I-Form and 3D printing trainer 3DWIT.

The workshop will run from 9:30 to 3:30pm. Each attendee will need to bring a WiFi-enabled laptop and mouse and consent to being contacted before and after by I-Form and 3DWIT.
