The Medtronic Healthy Living Project builds on the successful relationship established between Medtronic Vascular Galway, the Medtronic Foundation and the Galway Education Centre during the Medtronic Scientist of the Future Program. The key aim of the Medtronic Healthy Living Program is to introduce the concept of healthy living to students in Galway primary schools (ages 8 to 12 years).
The ongoing project is based on the success of the 2007/08 project which involved 4 schools with over 225 primary school pupils, 15 teachers and 22 parents. The project focuses on supporting key subject areas of the Department of Education Primary School Curriculum (1999): Science, Social Personal & Health Education and Physical Education.
