Title: Developing a School Garden
Description: This course will encourage teachers to work scientifically. It will help highlight the benefits of design and making in relation to the school garden and will involve teachers in developing their own skills of enquiry, observing, asking questions, predicting outcomes etc.

This course will include:

- Tour of Westside Community Garden
- Designing, planning and implementing a school garden with children's involvement.
- Maintaining the school garden and managing activities.
- Introduction of school garden activities with Primary School Curriculum.
- SESE.
- Propagating plants: seed sowing and saving techniques.
- Plants for free-taking cuttings and dividing plants.
- Organic Vegetable gardening in containers and in the ground: window sill and container gardening.
- Square foot gardening.
- Gardening for wildlife.
- Creating habitats and habitat exploration.
- The bird friendly garden.
