Workshop Objectives:
By the end of the two hour workshop, teachers will be able to
- Define by illustrative examples the world of contemporary art
- Identify contemporary art as it's woven into all facets of our lives through design & nature
- Make a piece of contemporary art individually and in collaboration with other participants
- Develop a personal critique of 4 examples of contemporary art using audio, video & 2D and experience school children' reactions to contemporary art pieces and gallery spaces
- Fix an appointment with a Galway based contemporary artist to visit their studio
