The aims of this module are:
- To reinforce and develop the key messages and content of the English curriculum
- To support teachers in reviewing literacy in their schools / classrooms
- To engage participants in evaluating the implementation of the English curriculum
- To facilitate the identification of strengths and needs within their schools
- To provide teachers with ideas and teaching strategies that will tackle potential difficulties and thus raise standards in literacy within their schools
- To support teachers who have responsibility for Curriculum Leadership in English
- To enable participants to critically evaluate the role they play in co-ordinating English in their schools
- To prepare participants to engage in the process of planning for English in their own schools / classrooms
